校本英文科課程

  • 為促進英文科課程發展,致力推行校本課程,制定英文科課程的縱向目標,訂定聽、說、讀、寫四大範疇於各級的比重,並引入多元化的教學理念及方法,以提高學與教的效能。
  • 除了推行多元化的英語閱讀課及英語拼音課外,亦透過「學習樂趣多」英語教學計劃,將兒童文學元素融入課程,提升學生的讀、寫、聽、說能力及創作能力,讓學生懂得欣賞語文的優美,從而誘發他們更喜愛學習語文。

School-Based English Curriculum

  • To promote the development of the English curriculum, the school is committed to implementing a school-based approach. This includes establishing vertical learning goals for English across grade levels, determining the appropriate balance of listening, speaking, reading, and writing at each stage, and introducing diverse teaching philosophies and methods to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness.
  • In addition to offering a variety of English reading and phonics lessons, the school also integrates elements of children's literature through the “Happy Learning” programme. This aims to improve students’ abilities in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and creative expression, while helping them appreciate the beauty of language and inspiring a deeper love for learning English.
  • The school also fully implements subject-specialist teaching in English, further advancing the development of the English curriculum

主要課程特色

 

英語教學計劃「Happy Learning學習樂趣多」

透過閱讀有趣生動的圖書,培養學生閱讀英文書籍的習慣,鼓勵學生接觸不同類型的書籍,從而擴闊眼界及提升閱讀興趣。

 

説話訓練課

本校著重培養學生的英語說話技巧和能力,透過課堂中的小組討論及匯報、圖書分享、校內朗誦比賽、3-Minute English、Read Out Loud等多元化活動,鞏固學生英語會話基礎,讓學生更有信心地以英語表達自己。

第一學習階段(一至三年級)、第二學習階段(四至六年級)

 

 

外藉英語教師計劃(NET Scheme)

  • 透過精心設計的校本英語拼音課程,有效地幫助一至三年級學生建立良好的閱讀及拼音基礎。 在課程中,外籍教師會透過聽、說、讀和寫等方式來教授基本發音、元音和拼合等要訣,從而提升學生的英語聽寫能力。
  • 兩位外籍老師與一年級進行英語閱讀課,亦會與二年級進行小組故事課,致力讓學生探索豐富的文本,以激發他們的創造力並加深他們對世界的理解。
  • 為營造豐富的英語學習環境,兩位外籍老師會與各班的英語老師進行協作教學,共同籌辦多元化的英語活動,並訓練學生參加不同的公開英語比賽,擴闊學生視野,加強學生運用英語的信心。此外,兩位外籍老師在課堂內外積極地與學生進行互動,加強學生的英語聆聽和説話能力,讓學生在真實的情景下活學活用英語。

Highlights Library 英文科網上閱讀計劃 
本校善用網上學習平台,鼓勵學生在課餘時間閱讀與課文相關的英語圖書,增廣見聞。

 

校本課程設計
本校按照學生的需要、興趣和能力,為學生精心設計具針對性的課業及寫作任務,以鞏固學生英語閱讀和寫作的能力。

 

締造英語環境

  • 本校設有英語角及英文科展板,利用互動、多感官教學的方式為學生營造豐富的英語學習環境。此外,本校亦會舉辦English Day、校內朗誦比賽等多元化的活動,培養學生對英語的興趣。
  • 本校開設分別為低年級及高年級學生開設英語集誦隊和英語話劇組。

J.4-6 英語大使 English Ambassadors
 

透過英語大使活動,訓練高年級學生説故事及寫作技巧,鼓勵學生在校園推廣英語的使用。英語大使將於午息時段在英語室協助推行英語遊戲。透過一系列的訓練及培訓,本校致力提升學生運用英語的自信心。

 

Key Features of the English Curriculum
 

“Happy Learning” Programme
 

Through reading engaging and interesting storybooks, students are encouraged to develop the habit of reading English books. They are exposed to a variety of genres to broaden their horizons and enhance their interest in reading.

 

Speaking Training Lessons
 

The school places strong emphasis on developing students’ English speaking skills. Through group discussions, presentations, book sharing, school speech competitions, and activities like “3-Minute English” and “Read Out Loud”, students build a solid foundation in spoken English and gain confidence in expressing themselves.

 

Native English Teacher (NET) Scheme

  • A tailor-made school-based phonics curriculum helps Primary 1–3 students build a strong foundation in reading and phonics. Native English teachers teach key pronunciation skills—including vowels and blending—through listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities to improve students’ dictation and spelling.
  • Two NETs conduct reading lessons with Primary 1 students and small-group storytelling sessions with Primary 2 students, guiding them to explore rich texts that spark creativity and deepen their understanding of the world.
  • To create a vibrant English learning environment, the NETs collaborate with local English teachers to organise diverse English activities and train students for public English competitions. They also actively interact with students inside and outside the classroom to strengthen listening and speaking skills, helping students apply English in authentic contexts.

Highlights Library – Online Reading Program

 

The school makes effective use of online learning platforms to encourage students to read English books related to their lessons during their free time, expanding their knowledge and exposure to English.

 

School-Based Curriculum Design

 

Based on students’ needs, interests, and abilities, the school designs targeted assignments and writing tasks to reinforce reading and writing skills in English.

 

 Creating an English-Rich Environment

  • The school features an English Corner and English subject display boards, using interactive and multi-sensory teaching methods to create a rich English learning atmosphere.
  • Activities such as English Day and school-wide speech competitions are held to cultivate students’ interest in English.
  • English choral speaking teams and drama groups are offered for both lower and upper primary students.

English Ambassadors (Primary 4–6)

 

Senior students are trained in storytelling and writing skills and encouraged to promote English usage across the campus. During lunch breaks, English Ambassadors help run English games in the English Room. Through a series of training sessions, the program aims to boost students’ confidence in using English.
